Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes? You’ll love my Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Dip too! Both have the same sweet, creamy Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake flavor and nostalgic holiday vibe, just in different forms.

Why you’ll love this recipe:

One of the biggest reasons people love Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Truffles is how effortless they are to make. The Christmas Tree Cakes already contain cake, frosting, and festive flavor, so there’s very little prep involved. Everything gets mixed together, rolled into balls, and dipped in chocolate.

Because there’s no baking involved, these truffles are ideal for busy holiday schedules. You don’t need to wait for the oven, and there’s no worrying about overbaking or cooling time. They come together quickly, making them perfect for last-minute desserts!

If you’re looking for a festive dessert that’s easy, no-bake, and made with just a few ingredients, these Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Truffles are the perfect holiday treat. They’re sweet, creamy, and bursting with nostalgic Christmas flavor—making them ideal for parties, gift boxes, or a quick dessert fix during the busy holiday season.

Ingredients you’ll need:

  • Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes- chopped or broken into pieces
  • Cream cheese- softened
  • White chocolate chips
  • Vegetable oil
  • Green sanding sugar
  • Red food coloring

Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Truffles are like Oreo truffles because they’re made by turning a packaged treat into a rich, bite-sized dessert. Just like Oreo truffles, the original snack is crushed and mixed into a soft, creamy filling, then rolled into balls and coated in chocolate for a candy-style finish.

At the same time, they taste unmistakably like Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes. The vanilla cake base, sweet crème filling, and classic white-and-chocolate flavor all stay intact, so every bite still feels like the original holiday treat.

The texture of these truffles is soft, creamy, and rich. Inside, the cake and filling blend into a smooth, sweet center that tastes like classic vanilla cake with frosting. The chocolate coating adds a satisfying snap and balances the sweetness perfectly!

Each bite delivers the familiar flavor of a Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake, but in a more indulgent and decadent form. It’s a nostalgic treat that feels new at the same time!

How to make the best Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Truffles:

  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the chopped Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes and softened cream cheese. Using an electric mixer on low speed, mix until a dough forms.
  • Roll the dough into 1 tbsp balls, placing them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat as you go.
  • In a microwave safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips with vegetable oil and microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
  • Working one by one, coat each dough ball in the melted chocolate. Using a fork, take each ball out of the bowl, shake off any excess chocolate, then return to the lined baking sheet and immediately sprinkle with green sanding sugar.
  • Add red food coloring into the remaining melted white chocolate,  adding a few drops until you reach your desired shade of red, then transfer the chocolate into a ziploc bag, cut off one end, and drizzle the red chocolate over the truffles.
  • Transfer to the fridge or freezer for 15 minutes to set the chocolate drizzle. Once set, carefully break off the excess candy-coating pieces around each truffle before enjoying!

If you love quick holiday desserts that still feel homemade, these Christmas Tree Cake Truffles are the perfect choice. They combine the method and form of Oreo truffles with the flavor and nostalgia of Christmas Tree Cakes—taking the best of both and turning it into a festive, bite-sized dessert!

Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Truffles are a natural fit for Christmas celebrations. Their festive colors and familiar flavor make them feel nostalgic and fun, while their truffle form makes them feel elevated and special.

They’re great for holiday parties, dessert platters, and edible gifts. Because they’re bite-sized, they’re easy to serve and perfect for sharing. They also hold up well when made ahead of time, which is always a bonus during the holidays.

Whether you’re an experienced baker or someone who prefers simple desserts, Christmas Tree Cake Truffles are guaranteed to impress without the stress!

My top tips:

  • LITTLE DEBBIE CAKES: You can use any Little Debbie snack cake to make these. Little Debbie Birthday Cakes, Zebra Cakes, or even Fancy Cakes should work just fine if you cannot find the Christmas Tree Cakes.
  • SOFTENED CREAM CHEESE: Softened cream cheesehelps to bind the crumbled snack cakes together, creating a smooth, creamy consistency that’s easy to shape. Make sure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature to avoid lumps in the mixture.
  • ELECTRIC MIXER: I recommend using an electric mixer to combine the cakes and cream cheese. Simplymix on low speed just until fully combined. You may still have some small pieces of the vanilla coating from the snack cakes remaining in the mixture however the mixture should be relatively smooth.
  • MELTING CHOCOLATE: I recommend microwaving the chocolate in 30 second intervals to prevent any burning. I also like adding vegetable oil to the chocolate to thin it out a little and make it a better consistency for coating. You could use coconut oil for a similar result.
  • COATING THE TRUFFLES: The best method for coating these balls in chocolate is to use a fork and gently tap any excess chocolate on the side of the bowl. You’ll also want to scrape all the excess chocolate off the bottom so that it won’t create a pool or “foot” of chocolate once placed on the baking sheet.
  • SPINKLES: Don’t wait until all the truffles are coated in white chocolate before adding the green sanding sprinkles; otherwise, the sprinkles will not stick! The white chocolate hardens quickly, so it’s best to coat and sprinkle 1-2 cake balls at a time to ensure the green sanding sprinkles stick to the tops of each cake ball.
  • RED DRIZZLE: If you do not want to use the excess melted white chocolate you have after all the cake balls have been coated to decorate your truffles, you can use ½ cup of red candy melts and microwave them according to package instructions instead. If you are using the remaining white chocolate and dying it red, just start with 1-2 drops of food coloring until the desired color is reached.
  • DRIZZING: I find it helpful to transfer the melted chocolate into a Ziploc bag before cutting off one end and drizzling. This makes the chocolate drizzle more evenly and keeps things mess free.
  • STORING: These Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Truffles can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. To freeze, place the truffles in an airtight container or a freezer bag, separating layers with parchment paper if necessary, and freeze for 2-3 months.
