How to make the best Reese’s pretzels:
- In a microwave safe bowl, combine peanut butter chips with 2 tbsp vegetable oil. Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in-between, until melted and smooth.
- Chop Reese’s cups into tiny pieces, until they’re almost crumbs, then set aside.
- Coat each pretzel in the melted peanut butter chips, let any excess chocolate run off, then transfer to a parchment lined sheet pan. Immediately top each one with chopped Reese’s cups.
- In another microwave safe bowl, combine semi-sweet chips with 1 tbsp vegetable oil. Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in-between, until melted and smooth.
- Transfer the melted chocolate into a Ziploc bag, cut off one end, then evenly drizzle the chocolate on top of the pretzels.
- Place in the fridge or freezer for 15 minutes to set the chocolate drizzle. Once set, carefully break off the excess candy-coating pieces around each pretzel before enjoying!

If you’re looking for a super simple dessert than look no further than these Reese’s pretzels! Not only is this quite possibly the best food combo ever (hello peanut butter and chocolate) but it’s quick to make and taste just like your favorite peanut butter cup!
These Reese’s pretzels are the ultimate treat for when you want something sweet but just can’t be bothered to turn your oven on. There’s no rolling or dipping required, you just have to be patient enough to let the chocolate chill and harden!

I think the easiest way to melt chocolate for this recipe is to use the microwave. Put the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds at a time. You’ll want to stir every 30 seconds to make sure you don’t burn the chocolate. If you have a double boiler, you can use that as well. Heat over medium heat, stirring continually until the chocolate is smooth and completely melted.

My top tips:
- PRETZEL VARIETY: Feel free to use your favorite pretzels here! I prefer using large hard pretzels like Snyder’s OldeTyme or Splits, but you can also make these bite-sized by using tiny twists or pretzel snaps.
- PEANUT BUTTER CHIPS: I find peanut butter chips to be super convenient here since all you need to do is melt them, but if you can’t find peanut butter chips near you, you can microwave 1 (12 oz) bag of white chocolate chips with 1/3 cup of creamy peanut butter for a very similar result!
- VEGETABLE OIL: Adding a little vegetable oil to the peanut butter chips and chocolate chips is my secret trick for silky smooth chocolate every time! The vegetable oil thins out the chocolate and makes it much easier to coat and drizzle over the pretzels.
- DIPPING: After you coat the pretzels in melted peanut butter chips, tap the pretzel against the bowl so the excess chocolate drips off. You’ll want to scrape all the excess chocolate off the bottom of your pretzels so that it won’t create a pool or “foot” at the bottom.
- TOPPING: The wet chocolate acts as a glue for the candy pieces to stick to, so it’s important to top these with chopped Reese’s before the coating has set. You can also use chopped Reese’s pieces here if you prefer!
- CHILLING: You can let these dipped pretzels set at room temperature, but it will take hours for the chocolate to fully harden. To speed up the process, feel free to place them in the fridge for 15 minutes to set the chocolate drizzle.
- STORING: I like storing any leftovers in an airtight container or Ziploc bag in the fridge. This keeps the pretzels extra crunchy and fresh for up to 2 weeks! These can also be stored at room temperature for up to 1 week.
