These easy pizza cups are filled with gooey cheese, fresh tomato sauce, and your favorite pizza toppings, making them a perfect party appetizer.
This easy snack takes minutes to prep and can be made with store-bought pizza dough! They’re easy to customize, so the whole family is sure to love them too!
Ingredients:
- Store-bought pizza dough: feel free to use homemade as well!
- Store-bought marinara sauce: I like Raos!
- Butter
- Minced garlic
- Oregano
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- Pepperoni
- Sliced black olives
My favorite thing about these muffin tin pizza cups is that they can be filled with your choice of meat and veggies. If you have a household of picky eaters who never want the same pizza toppings, this recipe is for you!
Here’s some other topping variations to try:
- BBQ chicken: shredded chicken tossed in BBQ sauce, shredded mozzarella, caramelized onions and cilantro or parsley.
- Buffalo chicken: shredded chicken tossed in buffalo sauce, shredded mozzarella and blue cheese or ranch dipping sauce.
- Hawaiian: marinara sauce, shredded mozzarella, diced pineapple and chopped ham.
I like to think of these pizza cups as a cross between deep dish pizza and pizza bites. They’re doughy on the bottom with crisp, cheesy edges. But it doesn’t stop there! These are individually portioned, making them a perfect game day or party appetizer that barely requires any effort at all!
How to make easy pizza cups:
- Step 1: Divide your pizza dough into 12 equal pieces. Lightly coat your 12-cup muffin tin with olive oil, then place one piece of dough inside of each muffin tin cavity. Lightly dimple the dough with your fingertips to cover the bottom of each cavity.
- Step 2: Melt butter in the microwave and add garlic and oregano. Stir to combine. Drizzle or brush garlic butter on top of each piece of pizza dough, then top with sauce, cheese, and toppings of your choice (I did pepperoni and black olives).
- Step 3: Sprinkle a little more cheese on top of each one and bake at 425 degrees F for 20-25 minutes.
- Step 4: Once the pizza cups are out of the oven, drizzle/brush with more garlic butter. You may need to pry out of the tin with a knife if the cheese has baked and stuck onto the tin!
FAQ:
Sure! From my experience, crescent dough is more buttery than traditional pizza dough so I might recommend skipping the garlic butter to prevent the pizza cups from becoming too greasy.
100%! In fact, if you’re making these for a party or game day appetizer you’ll defiantly want to double up because these will disappear in no time!
The best way to reheat pizza cups is my popping them in an oven at 250 degrees F or an air fryer for 5-10 minutes until they’re slightly crisp on the outside again.
