My top tips:
- COOL WHIP: Using frozen whipped topping( AKA Cool Whip) adds even more ease and convenience to this already easy recipe! Rather than taking the time to whip heavy cream, just make sure your whipped topping is fully thawed before use.
- INSTANT PUDDING MIX: Make sure the chocolate pudding mix you’re using is instant. The instant pudding will thicken without having to cook it on the stove and that’s exactly what we want.
- SERVING DISH: I like serving this dip in something wide and shallow, like a pie plate, so that there’s more surface area for the pudding base, fresh strawberries, and chocolate in every bite.
- STRAWBERRIES: I swear this dip tastes better when the strawberries are diced super small. Chopping your strawberries into tiny pieces not only makes this dip easier to scoop and eat, it also ensures you get bits of strawberries in every bite.
- MELTING CHOCOLATE: Adding a little vegetable oil to the chocolate chips is my secret trick for silky smooth melted chocolate every time! The vegetable oil thins out the chocolate and makes it much easier to evenly drizzle over the strawberries.
- DRIZZLING: I find it helpful to transfer the melted chocolate into a Ziploc bag before cutting off one end and drizzling. This makes the chocolate drizzle more evenly and keeps things mess free.
- STORING: This is one of those recipes that is best enjoyed day of so that the strawberries don’t become too soft or soggy. I do not recommend storing this dip for more than 1 day in the fridge.
