Mixing up this Lucky Charms Snack Mix is super easy. You combine the popcorn, cereals, pretzels, and m&m’s in a large bowl. Melt the white chocolate and pour it over. Then spread it out to cool and see how much self-control you have by not munching it all down!
How to make the best Lucky Charms Snack Mix:
- In a large mixing bowl, add popcorn, chex, lucky charms, pretzels, and 1 cup m&m’s. Mix to combine, then set aside.
- In a microwave safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and vegetable oil. Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in-between, until melted and smooth.
- Pour the melted chocolate into the bowl of snack mix and stir to coat everything evenly.
- Transfer the mix to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, then immediately sprinkle with lucky charms marshmallows (I just picked them out of the cereal) and remaining m&m’s.
- Let the chocolate coating set completely before breaking into pieces and serving!

I’ve also heard of this Lucky Charms Snack Mix being referred to as “Leprechaun Bait”. No matter what you call it, this is a fun snack that will be sure to help you catch that tiny mythical creature…or just the love and adoration of those little kiddos with a love of sweets.
This crunchy, crispy, salty, and sweet Lucky Charms Snack Mix is the perfect sweet treat to package up and give as edible gifts to your friends and neighbors too! It doubles as a mid-day snack, but also as something sweet for a dessert.

My top tips:
- POPCORN: Feel free to pop your own popcorn, use the microwave bags, or buy pre-popped popcorn from the store. Just be sure to remove any unpopped kernels in advance. If you like sweet and salty, go for the movie theater butter microwave bag!
- PRETZELS: I like using mini pretzel twists for this recipe, but pretzel snaps, waffle pretzels, or even pretzel sticks all work great too.
- MELTING CHOCOLATE: I recommend microwaving the chocolate in 30 second intervals to prevent any burning. White chocolate can be especially temperamental and prone to clumping, so it’s important to melt it down slowly.
- VEGETABLE OIL: Adding a little vegetable oil to the chocolate chips is my secret trick for silky smooth chocolate every time! The vegetable oil thins out the chocolate and makes it much easier to coat this snack mix.
- WORK QUICKLY: White chocolate hardens quickly, so mix it with the snack mix immediately after it is fully melted.
- TOPPING: The wet chocolate acts as a glue for the lucky charms marshmallows and m&m’s to stick to, so it’s important to top these with “the extras” before the white chocolate coating has set.
- COOLING: Transferring this snack mix onto a lined baking sheet prevents the snack mix from clumping together into one hard ball and ensures all the chocolate has set before enjoying. If you’re impatient like me, you’re going to want to transfer yours to the fridge or freezer to make the chocolate set up faster.
- STORING: Lucky Charms Snack Mix is best enjoyed within 2-3 days for optimal freshness, but you can transfer any leftovers into an airtight container or Ziploc bag and store at room temperature for up to 1 week.

Sweet and salty, this quick and easy mix features just 7 ingredients and comes together in 20 minutes! This recipe does make a very large bowl, so it’s great for a crowd. If you’re not wanting a giant bowl of it, you will want to cut the recipe in half.
