Made with store-bought biscuits and cinnamon sugar, these cinnamon sugar biscuit bites are crunchy on the outside, yet soft and fluffy on the inside. The perfect sweet breakfast, after school snack, or dessert!
If you prefer savory over sweet, I got you! My Biscuit Pretzel Bites are made from store-bought biscuits and taste just like the pretzels you used to beg for at the mall as a kid!
Why you’ll love this recipe:
These are one of my favorite quick and easy treats to make! With only 4 ingredients and less than 20 minutes, you can make these shortcut donut holes with a can of biscuit dough, melted butter and a generous dusting of cinnamon sugar.
Somehow, these ingredients combine to make biscuit bites that taste like a hybrid of cinnamon sugar donuts and churros! So simple, yet so irresistible!
Ingredients you’ll need:
- Store-bought biscuits
- Butter-melted
- Granulated sugar
- Cinnamon
Churros are a treat that consists of fried dough rolled in cinnamon sugar, they’re delicious! But if you’re like me, you’ll do nearly anything to avoid the mess of frying at home.
Using canned biscuits is a convenient base for dunking in melted butter and finishing with a coating of cinnamon sugar. The result resembles a bite-sized churro but with less steps and way more convenience! Once you try them, you’ll be wondering why you didn’t make them sooner!
How to make the best cinnamon sugar biscuit bites:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- Separate the biscuits from each other, then cut each biscuit into 4 equal pieces.
- Transfer the biscuit pieces to your prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
- While the biscuit bites are in the oven, combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small mixing bowl.
- Working one by one, dip each biscuit bite into a bowl of melted butter, then directly into the cinnamon sugar, rolling to coat completely. Serve immediately.
My top tips:
- AIR FRYING: If you’d rather air fry these biscuit bites, that’s an option too! Everything else stays the same in this recipe, just air fry the biscuit pieces at 350 degrees F for 7-9 minutes instead of baking them in the oven.
- BISCUIT VARIETY: It’s important you’re using the biscuits with 8 per can to ensure your biscuit bites will be the correct size. I like using Pillsbury southern homestyle biscuits for this recipe, but nearly any refrigerated Pillsbury biscuit variety will do.
- COATING: It’s important that you cover each biscuit bite completely in melted butter before rolling in the cinnamon sugar. The melted butter is what makes the cinnamon sugar stick to the biscuit bites.
- RE-HEATING: These are best enjoyed warm, so if you need to reheat your biscuit bites, I recommend placing them back in the oven for 3-5 minutes until warmed through. You can also reheat in the microwave or air fryer as needed.
- DIPPING SAUCE: Optionally make a dipping sauce for these cinnamon sugar biscuit bites by combining 2 cups of powdered sugar and 1-2 tbsp of milk, then mixing until smooth. This will resemble a cinnamon roll bite!
- LEFTOVERS: To preserve freshness and flavor of these cinnamon sugar biscuit bites, you’ll want to store them in an airtight container at room temperature. This will keep them at their peak for up to 2 days.
If you’re making these for dessert, turn them into cinnamon roll bites by serving them with an optional dipping sauce made from powdered sugar and milk or icing. They’re also delicious enjoyed alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
