I’m a fan of bacon on nearly anything! The sweet and salty bacon makes these crackers a lot like potato chips, you can’t just have one! The combination of salty bacon, crisp crackers, combined with brown sugar and a little heat from the red pepper flakes makes these Boursin candied bacon crackers the perfect treat!

Ingredients you’ll need:

  • Club crackers
  • Garlic and herb Boursin cheese
  • Bacon
  • Brown sugar
  • Red pepper flakes

I love an appetizer that I can whip up last minute! I think it’s important for all of us to have some quick and easy recipes in our back pockets for entertaining, and these Boursin candied bacon crackers are a hit every single time. This easy appetizer only takes 10 minutes to assemble, is great for nearly any occasion, and can even be made ahead of time!

Bacon crackers are the perfect bite-sized snack or appetizer for parties, holidays, or game day! With just a handful of ingredients, these are super simple to make and will have everyone hooked after one bite!

How to make the best Boursin candied bacon crackers:

  • Preheat your oven to 300 degrees F. Line a baking tray with foil, then place a wire rack on top.
  • Spread a thin layer of Boursin cheese on top of each club cracker, then place on the baking rack.
  • Cut strips of bacon into 4 smaller sections, then place one section on top of each cracker.
  • Sprinkle roughly 1/2 tsp of brown sugar on top of the bacon, then sprinkle with red pepper flakes.
  • Bake for 40 minutes, or until the bacon is caramelized. Bake time may need adjusted depending on the thickness of your bacon.
  • Let cool slightly before enjoying!

These crackers are crunchy, smokey, sweet and salty with a kick of heat! The fat from the bacon slowly renders into the crackers as they cook, caramelizing the brown sugar and creating the perfect mashup of flavors and textures. From the creamy Boursin cheese to the caramelized cracker and bacon, this is chewy, crunchy cracker perfection!

You may be thinking that there’s no way these candied bacon crackers aren’t soggy from all the rendered bacon fat, but you’ll be shocked by how crispy these crackers are! As the bacon fat renders out, the crackers soak up all that flavor and then crisp back up as they cool.

My top tips:

  • PREP YOUR PAN: It’s very important that these crackers are baked on a wire rack or else they will stick to the foil. The foil is just there to make clean up as easy and mess free as possible!
  • CRACKERS: Club crackers work best for this recipe because they’re the same width and shape of the bacon, but if you don’t mind the different shapes, original Ritz or Townhouse crackers would work as well.
  • BOURSIN: The addition of garlic and herb Boursin cheese adds another layer of flavor and texture to this already delicious appetizer. If you don’t like Boursin, feel free to go with a whipped cream cheese, thin slice of parmesan cheese, or just skip the cheese completely!
  • BACON: I recommend staying away from the thick cut bacon for this recipe. Opt for thin-sliced bacon instead, as it will cook through before the crackers overcook. You’ll also want the pieces of bacon to just be slightly longer than the crackers because they will shrink a little as they cook.
  • DON’T SPEED UP THE BAKE: Baking these crackers at a lower temperature allows the fat to render out of the bacon a bit more evenly so that the bacon will crisp, and the crackers will brown, not burn.
  • LEFTOVERS: Any leftover crackers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. These are best enjoyed warm but taste good at room temperature too!
