Strawberry banana cheesecake salad is a light and fluffy dessert salad with a sweet and tangy cream cheese filling, fresh strawberries, bananas, and marshmallows!
Why you’ll love this recipe:
Light, fluffy, and full of fresh fruit, this creamy dessert salad satisfies your sweet tooth without weighing you down. It combines the flavors of cheesecake with strawberries and bananas to make a light and flavorful treat the whole family will love!
This simple dessert salad is a twist on my Berry Cheesecake Salad, and I can’t decide which one I like better!
Ingredients you’ll need:
- Heavy whipping cream
- Powdered sugar
- Cream cheese- softened
- Strawberry banana yogurt
- Strawberries-sliced
- Bananas-sliced
- Mini marshmallows
I usually use pudding mixes in my dessert salad recipes, but today we’re switching it up with whipped cream, cream cheese, and strawberry banana yogurt! The yogurt not only brings in more strawberry banana flavor, it’s also a little tangy and offsets some of the sweetness in this recipe.
This easy, no bake side or dessert is always a hit at parties, potlucks, or BBQ’s. Strawberry and banana has to be one of the best fruit combos ever and this spin is the perfect combination of sweet and tangy.
How to make the best strawberry banana cheesecake salad:
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine heavy cream and powdered sugar. Whip to form stiff peaks, then set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, whip together softened cream cheese and strawberry banana yogurt. Once smooth, fold in the whipped cream from earlier.
- Add the sliced strawberries, bananas, and mini marshmallows to the creamy mixture, saving some of each for topping.
- Transfer the mixture to your serving bowl, then top with remaining strawberries, bananas, and mini marshmallows before enjoying.

My top tips:
- WHIPPED TOPPING: To make this recipe even more convenient, you can use a tub of thawed whipped topping, like Cool Whip, instead of whipping heavy cream and powdered sugar. I just like the flavor and richness of using real cream. If you take this route, you’ll need 1 (8 oz) tub of thawed cool whip, and ½ cup powdered sugar.
- ELECTRIC MIXER: I do recommend using an electric mixer for whipping the heavy cream and powdered sugar. You can do it by hand, but it’ll take much longer. An electric mixer is also useful for combining the softened cream cheese and yogurt because it makes the mixture extra light and fluffy.
- SOFTENED CREAM CHEESE: Using softened cream cheese is important here because it’ll incorporate into the yogurt smoothly and ensures the “cheesecake” mixture won’t be lumpy. If you don’t have time to let your cream cheese soften, you can use whipped cream cheese from the tub that doesn’t require softening.
- SLICING THE FRUIT: I like making sure my sliced strawberries and bananas are roughly the same size so that they’re easy to eat. The best bananas to use for this recipe are ones that don’t have many brown spots. You’ll want to choose bananas that are on the firmer side so that they hold their shape.
- FOLDING: Try your best to be gentle while folding in the fruit and marshmallows. You’ll want to avoid smashing the bananas and strawberries and deflating the whipped cream mixture. It’s best to switch to a spatula and fold these in by hand.
- BROWN BANANAS: Sliced bananas will oxidize and become brown when exposed to air, so I only recommend topping this strawberry banana cheesecake salad with the strawberries, bananas, and mini marshmallows when you’re ready to serve.
Strawberry banana cheesecake salad is best enjoyed day of. If you need to make this in advance, I recommend waiting to add the sliced fruits and mini marshmallows until you’re ready to serve. This prevents the marshmallows and fruit from becoming soggy.
