Pepperoni crescent rolls are a quick, easy, and fun snack full of spicy pepperoni and gooey mozzarella cheese!
Who doesn’t love pepperoni pizza? If you like these simple pepperoni crescent rolls, you’ll like my pepperoni pizza dip and pizza crackers too!
Why you’ll love this recipe:
Are you craving pizza flavors but looking for a fun twist? These pepperoni crescent rolls feature buttery, flakey crescent rolls filled with spicy pepperoni and string cheese, then baked to golden brown perfection!
The best part? Using store-bought crescent rolls is a major time savor that doesn’t require you to wait for dough to rise. These convenient little rolls make the perfect “crust” for these easy pizza bites.
Ingredients you’ll need:
- Crescent roll dough
- String cheese
- Pepperoni slices
- Egg
- Grated parmesan cheese
- Italian seasoning
Thinly sliced pepperoni and half a cheese stick get rolled into pillowy soft crescent dough, then brushed with egg wash and sprinkled with parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning before baking!
You’ll bake these until they’re golden-brown perfection and your kitchen smells like your favorite pizza spot.
How to make the best pepperoni crescent rolls:
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- Unroll your tubes of crescent roll dough, then separate the triangles by tearing or cutting along the perforated lines.
- Working one by one, lay 6 pieces of thinly sliced pepperoni along each crescent roll. Slice each stick of string cheese in half, then place a piece of string cheese right on top of the pepperoni slices.
- Once each triangle of crescent roll dough is layered with pepperoni slices and cheese, start rolling with the widest part of dough. You’ll then continue rolling to the tip of the crescent roll to create the correct shape.
- Transfer the stuffed crescent rolls to your prepared baking sheets, beat an egg in a small bowl, then brush the surface of each one with the egg.
- Sprinkle the tops with grated parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning, then bake for 15 minutes.
- Enjoy immediately with warm marinara or pizza sauce on the side for dipping!
Snack time just got an upgrade with these pepperoni rolls! They’re the perfect handheld bite which makes serving super easy! Everyone gets their own individually portioned snack, made even more delicious when dipped in warm marinara or pizza sauce.
If you’re hosting a party, or just need a quick snack for the family, these pepperoni crescent rolls are sure to be a hit with people of all ages! Both kid and adult approved!
My top tips:
- PEPPERONI: I recommend using thin pepperoni slices for this recipe. You can slice it yourself or buy the pre-sliced pepperoni from your local grocery store. The thinner the pepperoni is, the easier it is to roll.
- STRING CHEESE: Feel free to use your favorite string cheese here. Just keep in mind that if you’re using reduced fat cheese, it may not get quite as melty. The most important thing here is that you slice each stick of string cheese in half before adding them to the crescent rolls.
- ROLLING CRESCENT DOUGH: Once each triangle of crescent roll dough is layered with pepperoni slices and cheese, it’s very important that you start rolling with the widest part of dough. You’ll then continue rolling to the tip of the crescent roll to create the correct shape.
- EGG WASH: The egg wash is an important step because it acts as a glue for the parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning to stick to the crescent rolls. It also creates a shiny, golden-brown finish to the crescent rolls once they’re baked.
- BAKING: You’ll know these pepperoni crescent rolls are done baking when you see the cheese is melted and the exterior of the crescent rolls are puffed and golden brown. They’ll need to cool for a few minutes to avoid burning your mouth, but are best enjoyed warm, straight from the oven!
This kid-friendly snack is oozing with cheese and ready in 30 minutes or less, making it the perfect last minute party appetizer, easy lunch, or snack on game day!
Transfer any leftovers to an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 4 days. These reheat best in the oven or toast oven at 300 degrees but can also be tossed in the air fryer for a few minutes! I don’t recommend using the microwave, as it can make them too soft and soggy.
