Why you’ll love this recipe:

Oreo Spiders are a fun, festive, and frightfully delicious treat that perfectly captures the spirit of Halloween. They’re made by transforming classic Oreo cookies into adorable edible spiders using just a few simple ingredients like pretzel sticks for legs and candy eyes for faces.

The best part? They require no baking, no fancy tools, and only take a few minutes to make — making them ideal for busy parents, teachers, or anyone looking to add a creative touch to their Halloween celebrations.

Ingredients you’ll need:

  • Oreos- I recommend double stuffed
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Vegetable oil
  • Candy eyes
  • Chocolate sprinkles

These treats are not only cute to look at but they taste delicious too! You get the best of both worlds — the classic creamy crunch of an Oreo paired with the salty snap of pretzels. The sweet-salty combo hits all the right notes, and the little bits of chocolate used to hold it all together add an extra layer of indulgence. They’re a guaranteed crowd-pleaser!

If you’re looking for a Halloween treat that’s as adorable as it is delicious, Oreo spiders will be your new go-to. These no-bake Oreo Spiders are quick, fun to make, and a guaranteed hit at any spooky gathering — especially with kids (and adults who never outgrew their sweet tooth).

How to make the best Oreo Spiders:

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, then carefully twist apart the Oreos and place them cream side up on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Break each pretzel stick in half, then press 8 of the halved pretzel sticks into the cream of each Oreo to create the legs of the spiders.
  • In a microwave safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and vegetable oil. Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
  • Transfer the melted chocolate into a ziploc bag, cut off one end, then pipe about a teaspoon of melted chocolate onto the cream of each Oreo.
  • Sandwich the other cookie halves on top, then pipe another teaspoon of melted chocolate on the top of the Oreos.
  • Press on two candy eyes, and finish with chocolate sprinkles, then let the chocolate harden completely before storing or enjoying!

Festive Oreo Spiders are a playful twist on everyone’s favorite cookie — they’re basically edible Halloween crafts! Ultimately, Oreo spiders are more than just a treat — they’re a fun experience. They bring creativity, laughter, and a touch of whimsy to Halloween festivities, all while satisfying that seasonal sweet tooth. These no-fail cookies are sure to crawl their way into your list of favorite fall traditions.

Oreo Spiders are the perfect Halloween treat — simple, creative, and absolutely delicious. They’re proof that you don’t need complicated recipes to make something festive and fun. Whether you’re whipping up a batch for a Halloween party or just looking for a cozy fall weekend activity, these sweet little spiders are sure to crawl right into everyone’s hearts (and stomachs).

My top tips:

  • OREOS: I recommend using double stuffed Oreos here. The extra filling helps hold the pretzel stick “legs” in place.
  • MELTING CHOCOLATE: Microwaving the chocolate in 30 second intervals helps to prevent any burning. I also like adding vegetable oil to the chocolate to thin it out a little and make it a better consistency for piping. You could also use coconut oil for a similar result.
  • PIPING: I find it helpful to transfer the melted chocolate into a Ziploc bag before cutting off one end and adding it to the Oreos. This makes it easy to control the chocolate and keeps things mess free.
  • TOPPING: I like topping these chocolate sprinkles, but you could also use your favorite halloween sprinkle mix. It’s just important to top these while the chocolate is still wet. The wet chocolate acts as a glue, then once the chocolate sets, the eyes and sprinkles will stay in place.
  • CHILLING: You can let the chocolate set at room temperature, but it will take longer for the chocolate to fully harden. To speed up the process, feel free to place the Oreo Spiders in the fridge for 30 minutes to set the chocolate.
  • STORING: Oreo Spiders can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge or at room temperature for up to 1 week. For optimal freshness and to prevent them from going stale, keep them in a well-sealed container to maintain their crisp texture. Avoid freezing them, as this can negatively affect the pretzels’ crunchiness.
