Fluffy and sweet Hawaiian rolls get drizzled with garlic and herb butter, then stuffed with cheese for the ultimate cheesy Hawaiian garlic bread!
Why you’ll love this recipe:
Hawaiian rolls are sweet, soft, and completely addicting! They’re one of my favorite things to have on hand for a last-minute side dish, but this version is special because it’s the perfect combination of sweet and savory. Serve these alongside your favorite hearty soup recipe, simple Italian dinner, or make a meal of it with a big side salad!
Ingredients you’ll need:
- Hawaiian rolls- Kings hawaiian rolls work great! Trader Joes and ALDI also carry other variations of hawaiian rolls
- Butter- melted
- Fresh garlic- finely chopped
- Fresh parsley-stems removed and chopped
- Italian seasoning blend
- Shredded mozzarella cheese- provolone, gouda, and Italian blends can be substituted
As far as I’m concerned, pull-apart Hawaiian rolls are addicting on their own, so when you add tons of garlic butter, herbs and cheese, there’s no way you can go wrong!
Just a handful of ingredients and 20 minutes is all you need to make this drool-worthy Hawaiian garlic bread! Luckily, they’re super easy to make and a favorite for serving at family dinners, backyard bbq’s or game day!
How to make the best cheesy Hawaiian roll garlic bread:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and place Hawaiian rolls in your baking pan.
- Cut an X shape in the top of each one (only cut about halfway deep into each roll), then set aside.
- In a medium bowl, combine melted butter, fresh chopped garlic, fresh chopped parsley (reserve a little for topping), and Italian seasoning.
- Stuff 1 tbsp of the garlic butter mixture inside of each roll, then repeat with the shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Spoon remaining garlic butter on top, then bake for 10-15 minutes.
- Optionally garnish with remaining chopped parsley, then serve immediately!
My top tips:
- For easier clean-up, line your pan with foil before assembling the garlic bread!
- When cutting the rolls, make sure you aren’t going all the way through. Cut about halfway deep into each roll to ensure all the cheese and delicious herb butter will stay inside!
- I like using both fresh and dried herbs in this recipe. To cut down on ingredients, I recommend going for a dried Italian seasoning blend that has a combination of basil, rosemary, and oregano to get the most flavor! You can also skip the herbs and keep them simple if you want.
- Using fresh garlic makes such a difference here! I highly recommend taking the extra time to chop fresh garlic rather than using the pre-minced stuff. Just don’t go kissing anyone after you eat these! 馃槈
- If you have leftovers, you can store them in the fridge for up to 3 days. Just re-heat them in the oven or air fryer until warmed through.
