These Banana Split Oreos have all the flavors of a banana split – bananas, chocolate, whipped cream, sprinkles, and even a cherry – but layered on top of an Oreo rather than in a dish!

Banana splits are always a popular dessert choice, and I thought it would be a fun idea to put a little spin on it! Banana Split Oreos are inspired by all that you enjoy in a banana split. If you love banana flavor, you’ll also like my Banana Pudding Bites!

Banana Split Oreos are a no-bake dessert inspired by a love of Oreos, banana splits and all the ice cream toppings! Basically, a match made in dessert heaven. This treat starts with an Oreo on the bottom, then layering as we go with bananas, a whipped cream cheese mixture, chocolate sauce, and sprinkles. Complete with a maraschino cherry on top of course, because it wouldn’t be a banana split without a cherry on top!

Memorial Day weekend has just passed and it’s the unofficial start to summer! The pool parties are about to kick into high gear, and I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for new party-friendly bites! Banana splits are one of my favorite ice cream treats this time of year and I’ve given it a fun party twist that is melt-free… the ice cream is replaced with a whipped cream cheese topping! It’s so simple and best of all, no baking is required!
Banana Split Oreos are the cutest treat of all time! They are perfect for summer get-together’s, BBQ’s, and adding festive sprinkles would make them cute for the 4th of July! You only need a few ingredients and a few minutes to throw them together, too!
How to make the best Banana Split Oreos:
- In a small mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and thawed whipped topping (AKA Cool Whip). Mix until smooth and creamy, then set aside.
- Place your Oreos onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, then top each one with a banana slice.
- Transfer the cheesecake topping into a piping bag or Ziploc bag, cut off one end, and pipe a dollop on top of each banana.
- Drizzle with chocolate syrup and top with remaining ingredients.

It’s hard to beat an old-fashioned banana split when it comes to making ice cream sundaes. The classic dessert is typically made with three types of ice cream, a banana, maraschino cherries, three different types of topping and garnished with nuts. A childhood favorite loved by not only kids, but adults too!
Banana Split Oreos have all the flavors of a banana split piled on top of an Oreo cookie! So easy to make and even more fun to eat! Most importantly – absolutely no oven time is required, which makes them perfect for the summer when you don’t want to heat up the kitchen, and also perfect for when you need a quick dessert that you can throw together in very little time!
If you love the flavors of a banana split, you’re going to love this summer treat! This is one of my favorite ways to use up bananas in the summer and is a twist between a chocolate dipped banana and a banana split.

My top tips:
- OREO VARIETY: I’ve used both double stuffed Oreos and the original Oreo cookies and both work great. You can use any variety of Oreos to customize these bites and make them your own! Oher fun ones to try are the Birthday Cake Oreos, Double Chocolate Oreos or Golden Oreos.
- SOFTENED CREAM CHEESE: It’s important you’re using softened cream cheese so that it’ll incorporate smoothly into the other ingredients. If you don’t want to wait for your cream cheese to soften, you can use whipped cream cheese from the tub instead.
- WHIPPED TOPPING: Using frozen whipped topping adds even more ease and convenience to this already easy recipe! Rather than taking the time to whip heavy cream, just make sure your whipped topping is fully thawed before use.
- ELECTRIC MIXER: I do recommend bringing out your electric mixer for the whipped cheesecake topping because it makes combining the ingredients a breeze and whips a lot of air into the topping making it extra light and fluffy!
- BANANAS: You’ll want to be sure you’re using just ripe bananas that are bright yellow with no brown spots. If they’re overly ripe, they’ll be too mushy for this recipe.
- PIPING AND DRIZZLING: Transferring the cheesecake topping and the chocolate syrup into piping bags or Ziploc bags helps control how much you’re adding onto the Oreos and in turn keeps them nice and neat.
- SPINKLES: Feel free to switch out the colors and shapes of your sprinkles for different occasions or holidays! If you aren’t big into sprinkles, top these with some chopped up peanuts instead!
- CHERRIES: The red juice that maraschino cherries are stored in can be messy, so I recommend lightly drying off the cherries with a paper towel before placing them on top of the bites.
- STORING: This is one of those treats that’s best enjoyed day of so that the banana slices stay fresh, and the Oreos don’t lose their crunchy texture. If you’d like to prep these in advance, feel free to store the cheesecake topping in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, then just assemble when ready to enjoy!
