Being born and raised in the Midwest, ranch dressing is on the table at nearly every meal, so it only makes sense that ranch seasoning is my go-to trick for taking an already good snack and making it even better! If you like these cheesy ranch ritz bits, you’ll love this ranch snack mix too!
How to make the best cheesy ranch ritz bits:
- Preheat your oven to 250 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl combine ritz bits crackers, melted butter, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and parmesan cheese.
- Mix to coat the crackers evenly, then transfer them to the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 minutes, tossing halfway through, then let cool before storing or enjoying!
Packed with tangy, herby, and cheesy flavor, I guarantee you won’t be able to keep your hands out of the bowl! Good thing these are ready in less than 30 minutes and only require 6 ingredients to make! You’ll be whipping up another batch in no time!
My top tips:
- CRACKER VARIETIES: Ritz bits are delicious here because of their buttery flavor, just be sure you’re grabbing the cheese flavor and not peanut butter! Just in case you don’t have ritz bits on hand, you can make this recipe with oyster crackers in a pinch too.
- SPICE LEVELS: Feel free to adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to suit whatever spice level you like! My spice tolerance is pretty low, so the way this recipe is written just gives them a little kick!
- RANCH SEASONING: Be sure you’re using ranch seasoning and not ranch dip mix! The ranch dip mix is much saltier and can make these already salty crackers a bit too salty. If you’re using the big bottle of ranch seasoning, 3 tbsp of seasoning equals 1 ranch seasoning packet.
- MIX EVENLY: These crackers taste best when evenly coated in the seasonings. I recommend using a BIG mixing bowl that has plenty of extra room for stirring. You can also add everything to a Ziploc bag and shake to coat in the butter and seasonings.
- DOUBLE THE RECIPE: You can easily double or triple this recipe to feed a crowd. These crackers are perfect to serve or gift around the holidays and can disappear fast! So don’t worry about making too many! Even if you do, these crackers will keep for several weeks stored in an airtight bag or container in your pantry.
