- 5 cups water
- 2 tbsp baking soda
- 1 (16 oz) can store-bought biscuits I recommend Pillsbury southern homestyle grands
- 2 tbsp coarse pretzel salt
- cheese sauce or honey mustard optional for dipping
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking pan with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Add 5 cups of water to a medium saucepan, then sprinkle in the baking soda and bring the water to a rolling boil.
In the meantime, cut each biscuit into 9 equal pieces. Once the water in boiling, drop the biscuit pieces into the baking soda bath (only 8-10 at a time) for 15-20 seconds.
Using a slotted spoon or spatula, remove the puffed biscuit bites from the baking soda bath and transfer them to your prepared baking sheet. Repeat with all the remaining biscuit pieces.
Sprinkle the tops with coarse salt and bake for 20-22 minutes or until deeply golden brown.
Serve immediately with your favorite cheese sauce or honey mustard for dipping.
